Meet the staff of Amherst Presbyterian Church

Reverend Amir Tawadrous

Pastor

In June 2017, Rev. Amir Tawadrous started his first day of ministry in Amherst Presbyterian Church. He was born in Egypt, where his mother remains active in the Presbyterian church he grew up in. He obtained his first Bachelor degree in Social Studies from Minya University in Upper Egypt. Then, he went to finish his first theological degree in Cairo, Egypt. He came to U.S. as a global Scholar to McCormick Theological Seminary where he obtained his second degree in Theology (Master of Theological Studies.) In 2014, he received another scholarship at Union Theological Seminary in New York City where he obtained his third degree in Theology (Master of Sacred Theology.) Prior to his coming to our community at Amherst Presbyterian Church, he was serving two smaller congregations in Kansas City, Kansas. Rev. Amir enjoys ministry that provides hope and meaningful life to people. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, music, watching movies, and planning new programs that reach out to people.

Tom Potts

Custodian

Tom is both a long-time member of Amherst Presbyterian Church and a dedicated Church Custodian.  He keeps all areas of the building clean, neat, and organized, as well as maintaining clear walkways in the winter.  Tom also creates custom furniture arrangements in our social hall for events, and he frequently serves as our Liturgist on Sunday mornings.  His deep dedication to the church can be seen both throughout the building and in the lives he touches within our church family.
